The mission of the American Numismatic Society is to be the preeminent national institution advancing the study and appreciation of coins, medals and related objects of all cultures as historical and artistic documents, by maintaining the foremost numismatic collection and library, by supporting scholarly research and publications, and by sponsoring educational and interpretive programs for diverse audiences. The Eric P. Newman Graduate Seminar in Numismatics, normally held every summer, is an excellent opportunity for AHMA students to receive hands-on numismatic training and conduct numismatic research.
Dedicated to the support of archaeological research and publication and to the protection of the world's cultural heritage for more than a century. A nonprofit and educational organization chartered by the US Congress, it is the oldest and largest archaeological organization in North America, with more than 11,000 members around the world.
